Topic: Taiwan Tourism Bureau Website:

The news is full of Chinese tourists in Taiwan, but the govt is also keen to encourage other international visitors to come and travel around. Of course one main way to do that is through the official Taiwan Tourism Bureau website. There are lots of good things about it, BUT in some places, the English is a bit strange...and may not help Taiwan's image. At this session, we'll have a look at the website and Lynn will point us to pages that could use some "naturalising" up. We'll try editing some English, and then write a polite email to the Tourism Bureau with our suggestions. (Lynn's been told by civil servant friends that this is what we should do!)

Optional preparation:
Have a look through the website: eng.taiwan
.net; Look at the Climate section and the Travel Suggestions section, Popular Tours introduction

Please register by Fri 8 July, 12 noon

Would love to see you and any friends there!

  2. Hi Caroline,

    Thanks for your message.

Very interesting! I just checked the membership setting of our google group and found that there are three yahoo email addresses, including yours, showing a strange message "Bouncing(退回)" which is NOT a default value in the membership enviornment.

Since I also have another yahoo email address and I am aware of a new version of yahoo mail just been released, I guess the problem might be caused by the new yahoo mail. So, can you check the setting environments of your yahoo mail and/or make sure that our group email "taiwan-issues-in-action@googlegroups.com" is included in your contact list. Also, you could also check the section of "擋信名單" to exclude our group email if it's there.

Sorry that I am not sure if that is really the cause and then the solution. But you know that I'll be very happy to try to figure it out with you this Sat. See you then ^^
